Really wish I had full rein over decision making for all haircuts! Input is nice, but  love openness and trust. Those haircuts turn out the best. The client sometimes are not aware of the full potential of taking a risk might do for them until they get that one compliment, from someone who "gets it". Look smart, be unique. Be perfectly imperfect. A look can be enhanced by an artist but the beauty of any look is the attitude on the face, and the feeling from the heart.
